First change oil this year

This was my first change oil for my vehicle this month. I opted to visit the nearby auto shop after knowing that the car dealer of where my husband bought this was closed early. I paid more than $80 bucks because I chose the premium oil. I waited there for more about 20 minutes with me observing the mechanic of how to change oil. Even if it was cold near the repair bay, it did not bother me because I learned something new and that’s about my vehicle. After the change oil, I got my free wiper fluid and free automatic car wash. There should be another free thing – like a coffee but I did not ask one. Well, maybe the next time, I would have change oil, I will ask for free coffee but I will try to visit the car dealer and see if they will offer me a cheaper price compared to this auto shop that I chose this year.

How to Get a Good Deal on a New Car

Owning a new car can be a lot of fun. However, going through the process of buying that new car can be full of trepidation. Too often, car buyers feel like they are taken advantage of by the sales reps they work with. The following three tips can help ensure you get the best deal possible when negotiating a price for a new car with Plainfield car dealers:

  • Select the right day for your purchase.
  • Understand the market for the car you want.
  • Walk away if you can’t get a fair deal.

Select the Right Day

Choosing the right day to buy a car is important. It can mean the difference between a great deal and a mediocre one. If you have the ability to time your car buying experience, try to visit the dealership on the days when they are more interested in selling cars. For instance, shop for a new car on the following days:

  • Go when it is raining and very few people are on the lot.
  • Go on the last 10 days of the month when the sales reps need to meet their sales quota.
  • Go in the middle of the winter when it is too cold outside for many people to go shopping.
  • Go in the middle of the week while most people are at work.

Understand the Market

Before you go to the dealership, spend a little bit of time learning about the market for the vehicle you want to buy. Learn what the MSRP is and what current interests rates are. Find out what it would typically cost for an outside vendor to provide the add-ons that are offered by the dealership such as installing a new stereo system or applying protective coatings. You might still want the dealership to provide these services for you, but at least you will know what the market rate is for the services.

Walk Away if Necessary

Remember that you are in control. If you feel like you are not getting a fair deal, walk away. There will be other Plainfield car dealers who can help you with your purchase. This is why it is important to know the market. It gives you the power you need to walk away if you cannot negotiate the right deal.

Tips and Tricks When Shopping for a Car

Shopping for a new car comes with a certain stigma about it; it’s a long, difficult process filled with unsavory salesmen that pressure you into buying way outside of your budget. This doesn’t have to be the case for you. There are certain tips that everyone should follow, and if you do, your car-buying experience will go much more smoothly. Remember, if you’re not 100% sure that you want to make a purchase, walk away and come back once you have more info.

Be Educated about Your Options

There’s nothing that salesmen love more than uneducated shoppers. When you don’t know your stuff, you’re an easy target for an upsell that you don’t need. Always read up on your options before heading into a dealership. Know what you’re looking for, and be specific when you speak to a salesman. If he tries to convince you that you need something else, politely but firmly decline and stick to your guns. Remember, you’re in charge, not him.

Never Buy on the First Day

Whether you are in love with the car or not, do not buy it on the first day. Make it clear to the salesman when you walk in that you do not intend to buy that day. Let him show you the car you’re interested in, and listen to all of the different packages that are available with the car. Always talk numbers, get a price, and then say you’ll get back to them. Remember, there are other dealerships in the area that are selling the same car! Just because you love the car, doesn’t mean you need to get it there.

Write down what the dealership offers you, then walk away. Look up other dealerships that sell that vehicle in your area. There’s always more than one Volkswagen dealership in a city, and you want to make sure that you get the best deal. Contact one or two other dealerships, even if it’s just by phone, and let them know what you’re looking for. Get more info about what they have on their lot, and get a number from them. Continue to go back and forth with the dealers, letting them know what each is offering you until one of them gives you the best price possible. Being a savvy car buyer can get you into the car you want for thousands less than you expected to pay!

In customizing your vehicle

Customizing your vehicle declares to the world that you are far from ordinary. Whether you customize from the ground up or you pick and choose what parts you want to declare the truck or car as your own, from bumpers to tires to hubs, engines and doors, only those who think and live outside the box can smoothly and confidently rid themselves of “standard” and enter the world of “unique.” According to the Specialty Equipment Market Association, the most popular customization trends bridge both performance and appearance. Monster wheels and super-heavy shocks and stabilizers, custom paint jobs and front or rear spoiler design only start the list. Jeeps are gaining in popularity as customization targets. Experts in the industry estimate these vehicles are overtaking dune buggies in interest because the jeeps are capable of handling both off-surface and highway surfaces. The increased seating height is one reason, many believe. While some dune buggies may be road-worthy, jeeps are designed first for that purpose. The design of the basic vehicle may limit the extent of customization, but with creativity and imagination, you can dress up your jeep to make it as cool and distinctive as you are. Some add to the individuality of their jeeps with Blingstar RZR doors from SideBySideStuff.com.

The importance of having backup cameras for trucks

Backup cameras are something that many car owners are talking about these days because people want to know if they are actually useful when it comes to backing up a car or truck. AmericanSecurityCo.com has backup cameras for trucks, and most of the people who have used these kinds of cameras in the past have seen nothing but positive results. It is much easier to backup any kind of car or truck when you are using a camera like this because it gives you a sneak peak into what is actually going on behind you. The best part is that you do not even need to turn your head when you want to see if anyone is behind you. You can simply look at your regular navigation screen when you want to see what is behind you, and you will be given a crystal clear image of any danger that is around. This kind of technology can actually save lives when you think about it because everyone knows that little kids are hard to see when you are backing up your car or truck. This is especially true when it comes to trucks because they tend to be lifted so far off the ground. If there is only one reason to get this kind of camera installed in your truck, it would be that it allows you to see if there are any people behind you that you are about to run over.
