Watch, enjoy, be entertained, and save with Netflix these holidays and every day

This post brought to you by Netflix. All opinions are 100% mine.

There are people who find the adventures of their lives outside their homes, like they will go from different places, shopping, mingling with friends in different scenic views, and more.  On the other hand, there are also other people also who want to just spend their quality time inside their homes cooking, doing chores, watching favorite TV shows – movies, playing with kids, and many more.

Speaking of favorite movies, there are people who will spend big just to have premium channels from their favorite cable companies.  There are many people also who are wise when it comes to their entertainment packages and they chose to have Netflix subscription.  They said that in this way they can have big savings.  And they are true.  I personally love Netflix.  I am even following them and I did Like Netflix on Facebook  so that I will know some promos and new movies.  I also do Follow @Netflix in Twitter.  And that would include that I do Follow Netflix on Pinterest.  In this way, I am one of the many who will know their whereabouts and their new stuffs.

On this Holiday

On these holidays, having Netflix is one of the best choices.  It is easy to view movies and favorite entertainment anywhere, like in the bedroom, living room, kitchen, outside the house, and even including in the bathroom.  As for me, I do love watching Netflix in my laptop whenever I am in the kitchen cooking some yummy foods for my family, especially now that they partnered with Chef Curtis Stone (a celebrity chef).

How about you?

Do you want to save on your entertainment bills also?  If you are, do check Netflix.  You will not just be saving on electricity bills, but you can watch it anywhere you may be.  Inside your home or even when you are on mobile.  Like when you are traveling to distant places, or having groceries, or waiting for some appointments, you can easily entertain yourself with Netflix.

When talking about foods and cooking with celebrity Chef Curtis Stone, I do love this recipe – Red’s Orange White Russian.  Here is the recipe for that:

Red’s Orange White Russian

The Chef said this:  “I couldn’t resist creating a recipe inspired by the character Red on the Netflix hit show “Orange is the New Black”…she is a chef, after all. This version of the classic White Russian cocktail includes orange liqueur and orange zest. Orange truly is the new black!”

Serves: 1

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 0 minutes

Make-Ahead: This cocktail is best served as soon as it is made.

Ingredients

Ice cubes

1/4 cup Kahlúa

2 tablespoons vodka

1 tablespoon Cointreau

2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream

1 navel orange

Method

1.       Fill a rocks glass halfway with ice cubes. Add the Kahlúa, vodka, and Cointreau and gently stir to blend.

2.       Pour the cream over so that it floats on top of the Kahlúa mixture. Using a fine grater, grate some orange zest on top. Serve immediately.

My Favorite Shows

Aside from the cooking shows that I love, the most important role of Netflix for my family and me is the cartoon movies in which almost the whole day and night, my kids love to watch.  My husband’s favorite shows are the series movies in which he would just be the one watching it in the room because it’s all Sci Fi movies.

What are my plans for these holidays with Netflix?

Since I am not the boss of my home, it would be my kids who would hug Netflix most of the time.  But if they will take their naps, that would be the best time for me to watch my favorite shows especially the cooking shows.  I do love Netflix for the reason that I can watch my favorite shows anywhere and anytime I want.  Best of all, Netflix brings savings to my wallet.

How about you?

Are you a Netflix subscriber too?  What are your experiences with using Netflix?  Did you have the same satisfaction like I have or even more?

The best day ever

I am going to make my day as my best day ever! This would be my motto in my life. The present is my only gift from God in which I can share it with my family as well as with my friends and acquaintances. And I do not want to miss any seconds of it by doing and thinking negative things. I do love my present coz I believe it would be the reason for my happiest and prosperous future. With God’s blessings, today is my best day ever!

5 Things To Look For Before Purchasing A House

Buying a house is a big financial step. Building your own little house, on your own block of land, is all part of the Australian dream. Home builders like Coral Homes make it a daily habit to turn dreams like this into reality. However, if you can’t – or don’t want to – build your house from scratch, then it’s important you thoroughly inspect your potential new home: the last thing you’d want is to be confronted with sudden (and expensive) surprises after you’ve already signed the contract, and footed the bill. To help you make the right purchase, and to help prevent you from ever feeling even a tinge of buyers remorse, take note of these 5 things to look for before committing to buying a home.

1. Check the ceilings are not sagging.

Before signing on the dotted line, and owning a new home, look up at the ceiling inside the house. If you find that it’s sagging or drooping in any way, either ask for it to be repaired, or look elsewhere. (You can use a torch to help you see any protrusions.) A sagging ceiling can ultimately collapse if not fixed. And installing a new ceiling is not cheap. Also, living in a home without a ceiling for any amount of time isn’t pleasant at all, and so it’s best to avoid being in this situation if you can.

2. Check for cracks on walls.

If you find any cracks that are greater than 2mm in width, you should be concerned. This is a red herring that something structurally may be very wrong. And fixing something that’s structurally wrong is expensive, time-consuming and frustrating indeed. Avoid like the plague.

3. Check for mold in the bathroom.

Not only is mold unsightly, but it could signal something much more problematic, such as a water leak from a nearby pipe. You’ll need to cut out the entire section of wall that’s affected, and then possibly fix your pipes. Not an easy job at all. Check for mold first and you should be okay.

4. Check for water stains.

Water stains are costly to repair. In the same way that mold can signal something wrong behind the walls, a water stain suggests that something is leaking and you may need to cut open the wall to find out. Make sure you do a full, preliminary inspection of the house you’re thinking of buying to ensure that no sneaky water stained walls are around any corner in your home.

5. Check the inside of roof gutters.

Even aluminum gutters – which are corrosion resistant and fair well under the elements – can deteriorate over time. Have a look on the roof of your prospective home, and make sure the gutters are in decent condition before handing over all your money. This will save you money in having to install new guttering.

Choosing the right home for you and your family is not easy. It often involves months of research, tons of in-house visits, and lots of talking on the phone: to the agent, to your significant other, and to your bank. Keep the above 5 things in mind when you’re about to purchase your home. And hopefully you’ll make a decision you’re proud of for many years to come.

5 Things to Look For When Purchasing Your First Mattress For a New Home

So you have decided to buy a place, or rent, or move in with a friend or loved one. Whichever way it goes you are going to need a new bed and with that a new mattress to put on it. Here are some things you might want to look for to get what you need for the best nights sleep possible.

Warranty and Longevity

Its more important how long your new mattress is going to last, and how long it is going to be comfortable for than how much it costs. You need things that will last for as long as possible. It might be worth forking out an extra couple of hundred dollars for the sake of keeping yourself comfortable for as long as possible. Especially because this is going to be a matter of a decade rather than a couple of years.

Support

You need something that will be supportive rather than just hard or soft. While softness is nice you also need something that will keep you healthy, will cradle your back and massage against your muscles to keep you feeling all right. If you have things like back problems, spinal twinges or muscle issues its even more important that you find something that is both soft enough to be comfortable and firm enough to support you. A latex mattress is something to consider here as they’re form fitting but also comfortable.

Supplementary and Accompanying Products

Does your mattress need a protector? If so what kind? How thick and waterproof does it need to be for the safety of the mattress? These are the kinds of questions someone buying a new mattress needs to be able to answer. Determine what kind of bed frame your mattress needs, what supports, if its only compatible with its own brand and how easy these products will be to replace if anything breaks.

Medical Issue Compatibility

There are some mattresses that have benefits to certain diseases, allergies and issues and some that are bad for them. So if you have any allergies or if you just have weak lungs or problems in certain parts of your body you need to do your research. You need to know what mattresses are better for back pain and what level of softness you need. Research is key.

Who You are Buying From

Its important to know the reputation and nature of the people you buy from. Do not buy a mattress of ebay or from another person. Go to a proper reputable mattress seller. Check out their policies, what they offer and what current users are saying about them. If you know your seller, you know your product

The informed choice is almost always the best choice. Figure out every detail, from the most to least important and make the best decision you can, for comfort, for value, for your health. With a few simple steps you can get twenty years of comfort out of a single mattress.

Field trip – ice skating

There will be some sort of field trip this week. I did not sign up yet but I will surely sign up for it since it will just be within the city of where I am living. I hope my homeschool kid will enjoy this so called ice skating for the whole school. I cannot join him in the skating rink since I need to be with my baby girl. But even if there would be someone who will attend to my baby girl, I will still not join him since I do not know how to use the ice skate. He-he-he!

This was taken at Pueblo Ice Arena last year’s field trip (2012). I will be posting new photos then for ice skating 2013.

Popular themes for a teenage girl’s room

Teenage girls are unpredictable, wonderful beings, switching between peaceful creatures one day, to contrary divas the next. The kiss of death for any parental bedroom designer? Assuming she’s still your princess or a princess at all, and pink unicorns and butterflies decorate her daydreams; she’s still little and wide-eye, right? You need to shield her from the world – only, she’s probably more aware of certain facets than you are. Instead of directing her to this option or that, use this time to find out more about your daughter, as she is now and who she wants to become. A bedroom is an oasis, a space reflecting our personalities and inner thoughts, our interests and quirks; a room where you can be you, as chaotic or organised as that may be.

Colour Her World

What is her favourite shade on the colour chart? Purple, green, blue, pink, red, orange…Feature walls have long become a design element for teenage bedrooms (and adult ones as well), drawing our eyes and furthering an ambience created by carefully chosen accessories and flourishes. If she has two colours she can’t decide on – after all, who has just one favourite? – feel free to clash and blend shades, experimenting with swatches and complementing hues. Unless she really loves pink, try to avoid this garish colour; as much as she loves it now, she might grow out of it in her later teens, embarrassed by its rosiness. After the paint is dry and even, take her shopping for a few colour matched embellishments – throw rugs, pillows, curtains, candles etc all add a hint of personality without overwhelming the space.

Don’t Be Afraid to Clash

Do you wince at the thought of mixing florals with neons, pastels with baroque swirls and red with yellow? It may be time to let go of your addiction to uniformity. If your daughter is a bit eclectic, very adventurous and delights in the mismatched world of unique furniture and decorations, don’t be afraid to break the rules. Be bold, be creative; mix, match and layer bright, subdued and in your face colours, tones, linen and accessories. It might sound jumbled and overwhelming, and it can be, if you don’t do it right – strategic chaos requires placement, patience and a keen eye for the big picture, as the final design works piece by piece, without crowding the overall concept.

Shoebox Design – Small Rooms, Big Ideas

Working with a small room can be a nightmare, particularly as your daughter’s life flows from play dates to romantic dates, from sleep overs to rom com parties and a shred of study to punctuate the social atmosphere that she now resides in, online and off. Places like Bunkers can offer some sophisticated space saving choices, from the classic to the modern; the idea of bunks is not new or particularly innovative in itself, though new hutch, storage and study designs are a god send in a tiny apartment or bedroom.

Ultimately, your daughter will want a space that resonates with her, somewhere she feels comfortable, a place to lie back and chill. Bedroom design doesn’t rate in the parenting magazine or self-help books, as it’s probably something you will do together once or twice, but make no mistake, this process can draw you closer together as similarities come out. You may have lost your little girl, but a wonderful young woman has taken her place.
