3 Tips for Ensuring the Success of Your Small Business

Anyone who claims small business ownership is easy has clearly never started their own business. Regardless of where you enterprise is based or which industry it serves, you’re guaranteed to face a plethora of trials and tribulations along the path to success. In light of all the difficulties first-time proprietors face, it’s no wonder most small businesses close within their first year. Fortunately, there are a number of steps you can take to prevent your business from becoming another statistic. In the quest for small business success, the following pointers are sure to come in handy.

1. Get Educated

If this is your first foray into small business ownership, it’s absolutely imperative that you get educated. Even if you already have a bachelor’s degree under your belt, going back to school for an MBA can prove tremendously beneficial to your business’s long-term prospects. In addition to giving you credibility, a good MBA program can provide you with a bevy of invaluable knowledge and a practical set of skills. Anyone eager to learn more about how an MBA can benefit small business owners can find more information here.

2. Avoid Nepotism

Many first-time entrepreneurs make the mistake of staffing their businesses with close friends and family members. While the desire to surround oneself with loved ones is perfectly understandable, nepotism can often prove detrimental to a business’s bottom line. If someone in your inner circle is uniquely qualified for a position, you should certainly consider giving them a shot, but a qualified candidate should never be passed up in favor of someone with whom you have a preexisting relationship.

3. Don’t Overstretch Yourself

When entrepreneurs are eager to establish their businesses, they often make the mistake of overexerting themselves and their staffs. This is generally the result of taking on more clients and heavier workloads than they can reasonably handle. Unfortunately, this often results in an exhausted staff and subpar work that no one is happy with. Wanting to carve out a name for your business is understandable, but overexertion can ultimately do harm than good.

The life of an entrepreneur is fraught with stress and unpredictability. However, those who are able to consistently and go the extra mile often find themselves rewarded with stability and long-term success. If you’re determined to help your small business succeed, remember to get educated, avoid nepotism in your recruitment practices and take measures against overexertion.

Tripod folding stools

I want to bring my kids out every once in a while. They are homeschooled and so AS A PARENT I WANT TO BRING THEM OUT coz they cannot go out alone by themselves. IT IS PARENTS’ OBLIGATION TO bring them out and so even if I am a home buddy, I see to it that I’ll find TIME TO LET THEM OUT FROM THE HOUSE. Before I am contented with just staying in the house most of the time coz that’s what I always loved to do when I was single. But now that I AM A PARENT and my kids are growing up, I need to let them see the world outside the home that we’re living.

Anyway, it’s the reason why I bought these tripod folding stools. It’s easy to carry and easy to fold wherever we will go (parks, church, anywhere). I can use these stools anytime. Although, these three tripod folding stools from Cabelas are bit bigger but it’s fine. It’s light weight and so it’s easy for me to carry. I am happy with my purchase coz these were on sale that day.

Denver Art Museum Part 1

My kids, my friend Glen and I visited Denver Art Museum this year. We had fun in there even if we were late and we weren’t able to join the guided tour. It’s our first time to visit that place and the parking was crazy coz we parked at the side of the road in which I need to get out after an hour to put another hour on the parking meter. That time we didn’t know where we will park and we didn’t know about parking garage. Anyway, these were some of our photos.

DOT certification training

All jobs require a certain level of training. The better quality of training a person receives, the more productive employee they will be. Therefore, many companies are learning that if they invest more money in the training process of their employees, it will benefit them down the road. A training video is a great tool to help people learn about the job they will be performing. By watching a video, they can see people performing the various tasks that their job will involve. Training videos are also essential to demonstrate proper safety and security procedures. Here is how to learn more about training videos.

Contact companies that use training videos

The vast majority of major companies require their employees to watch various training videos when they are first hired. Therefore, it should not be a problem for you to get some leads on where to obtain training videos for your business. Some videos can be used by many different companies, such as a DOT certification training video. Other companies hire a video production company to make a custom training video specifically for their company. You will need to figure out which type of training video you require.

Contact training video production companies

If you decide that you want to have a custom training video produced for your company, your first order of business will be to contact companies that specialize in producing these videos. With so many companies having their own training videos produced these days, there are no shortage of production companies to choose from. Take a look at some of the websites of these production companies. They should have examples of videos they have produced for other clients. If these videos are to your liking, schedule an appointment with the company to discuss the things you want your training video to contain. They will then give you a quote of how much the video will cost to produce. You should visit as many of these production companies as you can. Compare their fees, then decide which one you want to go with. You can then start casting actors to appear in your video.

Bowl For Success—Scholarship Opportunities in College Bowling

Are you a strong high school bowler who wants eventually to go to college? If you are, you may want to consider an option many don’t even realize exists: bowling scholarships. Although we tend to think of basketballs, baseballs, and footballs in terms of college scholarships, a bowlingball can pay for your education just as well if you know how go about it. Here are a few tips on college bowling scholarships that could pay off –literally—as you or your kid prepares to apply for college.

Get Into League Play

Many experts agree the best place to start looking for college money in bowling is in your local league play. Many of these organizations at the local and state levels have money set aside for scholarships and you (or your kid if a parent is reading this) need to be involved to be considered. Keep in mind, these scholarship committees will usually be looking at academic performance, community service, and other factors in addition to bowling prowess, so applicants need to be well-rounded candidates for serious consideration.

NCAA and Other Scholarships

In the NCAA, the prospects are far better for women student bowlers than men. There are currently 43 member schools in the NCAA that offer women’s bowling scholarships (in Division 1 and 2). Only two schools within the NCAA offer scholarships in bowling for men. Still, there are a lot of options for the men in other organizations. The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) offers a host of financial assistance for bowlers, both men and women, and 24 NJCAA schools have bowling teams. The catch is that the NJCAA doesn’t offer sports scholarships, so coaches use other enticements like academic scholarships and other incentives to attract top bowling talent.

Get Educated about Scholarships, then Go Get Your Education

There is a wealth of information available today online to help sort out all the finer points of the opportunities available in bowling scholarships. A search at collegescholarships.org reveals the top four bowling schools are considered to be Wichita State University; University of Nebraska; New Jersey City University; and Vanderbilt University. Those schools will attract the very best student bowlers, but should be on anybody’s short list to consider.

There is an old joke where somebody asks “How do I get to Carnegie Hall?” and they are told, “Practice!” In a similar vein, the surest way to get a bowling scholarship is through practice, practice, practice. Novice bowlers all the way through top pros will find all their bowling supplies—and more—available at http://www.bowlingballs.com.

Practical Way of Taking Care of Family

Common problems mostly families facing now is the fact that both parents are working for the family’s needs. Technically, it occurs these days. And the only person who’s in charge of the kids when the parents work is the maid/yaya. Although some asks favor to their relatives, still, the fact that the parents need to leave their kids in order for them to work. With this, we end up leaving our responsibilities to other person. Aside from that, the closeness of the family will surely fade away. Btu nevertheless, this common situation only happens with the kids are grown up.

Of the two parents, mother is the one who should know best of the kids’ situations. Although the father has also obligations towards his kids, the fact that among the two, the mother is the one knowledgeable more about handling the family without affecting any of her works. But of course, since this generation is different from before, mothers from the past is different from mothers today. If before, mothers focus only to the family, now, mothers have things to do aside from the family (such as managing a business like forex: https://www.varengoldbankfx.com/en/forex/) especially if that person is also a breadwinner.

Good thing that despite of the differences of mothers from now and then, there are still ways on how mothers and even those dads who are acting as both parents of the family have the options to do. With the fast and convenient stuff created these days, people can really work without affecting any of their obligations in life.

Since we can’t avoid working for our family’s needs especially when it comes to kids, always consider the following that would somehow comfort the both parties:

  1. 1.       When you decide to work, make a forum and try to tell your kids about your plan. In this way, they will know your sides and at the same time, you will know what they would feel then.
  2. 2.       Never ever forget your obligations despite of the fact that you work for a living.
  3. 3.       As much as possible, try to communicate with them even just for an hour. Giving them a part of your time to check and update them is already enough (as kids these days know how to understand more).
  4. 4.       When you’re into a work, always make the kids feel that you are still there supporting them.

It may be hard at first, but as a parent especially a mom, working is not an excuse to let them feel that you need to work for their needs. You can still work even without letting it happen. All you just need is a good time management.

Choose an Acting School that Will Begin Your Dream Career

Many hopeful actors and actresses dream of being discovered. Unfortunately, sitting around and waiting for that to happen is not likely to get anyone very far. If you have an interest in or a passion for performing arts, you need to put yourself on a path that gives you the opportunity to achieve your goals. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by attending an acting school. Although talent and personal practice are great tools, attending school can teach you the ins and outs of the industry. Acting school offers the best comprehensive source of information you can find. Additionally, if you know you want to work in the world of film and television, but aren’t sure which part of the industry you’d like to be in, you can research schools, like the found at www.ActingSchoolsLosAngeles.com, for information on their various programs.

School Qualities

When you start the process of selecting an acting school, there are certain attributes you should be on the lookout for. Having a variety of programs to choose from, which can be completed within a reasonably short amount of time, is one benefit some schools offer. The variety will allow you to be surrounded by the kind of people you will work with someday so you can learn from one another. The short programs will get you out in the field quickly. However, within this time frame, it’s important to be taught and trained by excellent instructors. Receiving your education from industry experts will put you on the fast track to success.

Location

Another important factor to consider in your school selection is location. Some acting schools, like the one found at www.ActingSchoolsLosAngeles.com, are situated in an area that is near the hub of filmmaking. Attending a school in this location will benefit you in many ways. One way is that curriculum and instructors will be based on and have experience with techniques used in Hollywood. Living in this area will also put you closer to auditions and job openings. If you are looking forward to a career in film and television, find a school that is ideal in both its location and curriculum. Their experts will help you on your way to the career of your dreams.

Tag reader

It’s nice not to have TV, computer games, Xbox games, Wii games, and iPod games cause the kid is now playing the leapfrog tag reader with the leapfrog map lol. And the reason for that is we do not have electricity for several hours. He cannot do anything with using any gadgets since there were no batteries and so he found ways of entertaining himself with the tag reader. NYAHAHA!

Lazy smart

In today’s high technology, it is a bit advantage for kids since they will be smarter. However, the down side of these high tech things is that kids will become lazy mostly in writing and doing manual work. If they can ask the computers and gadgets to do all the manual work for them, perhaps they will do it. They are not developing the thing of making their hand writing nicer and readable. This is what I am saying because, of me observing my homeschooled kid who is lazy in lifting his pencil to do his writing on his workbook and assignments. However, when it will be his computer time, it will be easy for him to use the keyboard and the mouse.

Hope to have better homeschooling days

I hope today (and in the coming days/months) is a better homeschooling day for my first grader kid. He is acting differently right after the long break. He keeps on asking for his old laptop again that is upgraded to Windows 8 because in there he can play whatever games he likes. Sigh! Hope he will learn to love his homeschooling as this is a very relax education for him.
